Learn about San Miguel
History & Vision
Founders’ Scott Currie and Eva Inglizian moved to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico with a passion for Mexico, its rich culture and exotic landscape. The couple from Los Angeles created Sagrada Wellness, a vacation sanctuary, combining their expertise: Architecture and Acupuncture. Scott designed the cabanas and yoga pavilion creating a unique hotel experience. Scott and Eva’s belief in natural and inspired living can be seen in Sagrada’s organic cuisine, delectable spa services and their acclaimed yoga, Pilates and Wellness retreats. Guests partake in a Sagrada Wellness lifestyle; a dedication to natural health and eco-living
Architect Scott Currie, graduate of Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), designed Sagrada Wellness with a respect for the environment in mind. The use of local, sustainable materials such as sun-baked adobes, reclaimed wood and terra-cotta tiles from abandoned haciendas creates refined indoor-outdoor living spaces with modern amenities. New eco-friendly architecture augments historic buildings already existing on the land without compromising the integrity of the history and spiritual character of the land. The building locations were chosen carefully as not to impact on the fragile environment. Landscaping consists of native drought resistant cacti and plants and dry stacked stone walls. A gray water system and solar panels are also integrated to minimize resource consumption.
Eva Inglizian L.Ac, Sagrada’s director of Health and Spa Services, has fashioned an array of retreat offerings ranging from yoga, Pilates and wellness retreats to Spanish and cooking classes and rejuvenation getaways. Eva facilitates guests to look at their well-being through the holistic lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Eva’s intuitive understanding of healthy living can be seen in Sagrada's delicious cuisine, incorporating local and organic produce and herbs. Eva specializes in dietary guidance and educates her clients on nutrition.
Scott and Eva live with their daughter Anais at Sagrada Wellness.
